Celebrating Elderberry: 2013 HERB OF THE YEAR™
Our theme for 2013 is twofold:
- Introducing Elderberry as 2013 Herb of the Year™
- Passing Along the Wisdom of Our Elders
At the 2011 IHA conference in Michigan, 10 brave speakers presented a series of 10 minute segments on their favorite herb recipes, with samples, and it was delicious fun. This year, were asking 10 brave speakers to present a favorite herb, favorite herbal practice, or favorite herbal story. Its only 10 minutes, but you can teach a great deal in 10 minutes. We need about 6 more volunteers.
Confirmed speakers so far include Rosemary Gladstar, Daniel Gagnon, and Betsy Williams. Watch the IHA website (iherb.org) for future announcements and registration details. Pre- and post-conference tours will stop at Healing Spirits Farm, the Cornell Herb gardens in Ithaca, a winery or two, and much more!
Nearby attractions within a 3 hour radius include the Corning Glass Museum, Finger Lakes wineries, Watkins Glen, Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, Niagara Falls, Letchworth State Park, to name just a few!
